Captain America Avengers (2012) Suit Redesign

So, if you don't already know, I HATE Cap's suit in the original Avengers film. I just think it looks more like a Halloween costume than something a superhero would wear. It was clear that they were trying to go for the classic comic look, but this was not the way to do it.

So, instead of merely complaining, I hopped onto photoshop and digitally painted over some screenshots of Cap. My aim was to tweak the suit into something more in line with his Civil War iteration.

The main things I did were adding shoulder pads and back-straps for the shield, to accentuate Chris Evans' naturally broad shoulders and to give the suit some utility. I also altered the design of the stripes, freed his ears and neck, gave him a chin strap and performed a bit of colour rebalancing. In the end, I personally think this version looks much better.
